Frédéric Caudron takes top honours in Corfu World Cup event

Belgium's Belgian Frédéric Caudron won the three cushion World Cup event in Corfu, Greece.

In the final he defeated Sayginer Semih (Turkey) 3-1.

Torbjörn Blomdahl from Sweden and Daniel Sanchez (Spain) shared third spot.

Blomdahl had won the last three World Cup events. It was Caudron who managed to stop the streak by beating the Swede 3-1 in the semi-finals

Jean Van Erp (Netherlands) had the highest average in the tournament, with 1.812. Blomdahl had the highest run of 15. Roland Forthomme (Belgium) had the highest single match average, with 2.368.

The win takes Caudron to No.2 in the World Cup Ranking. Blomdahl holds on to the top spot. Sanchez sits in third place.

Sanchez is the new leader in the World Players Ranking. Blomdahl drops to second, with Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) in third.

The event took place June 11-17 2007, at the Marbella Hotel & Bungalows, Corfu, Greece. It was the third leg of the World Cup. The next event is in Porto, Portugal, June 25 - July 1.
