Daniel Sánches claims World Cup win in South Korea

Daniel Sánchez from Spain won the three cushion World Cup event in Seoul, South Korea.

In the last match he trounced surprise finalist Chi Tranh Tran (Vietnam) 3-0 (15-14, 15-9, 15-4).

Ramon Rodriguez from Peru and Frédéric Caudron (Belgium) shared third spot.

The home nation's Jae Dong Choi had the highest average in the tournament with 2.357. Caudron's impressive 3.266 was the highest single match average. Martin Horn from Germany had the highest run of 13.

This was Sánchez' first World Cup win of the season. Last year he won twice.

The win moves Sánchez to fourth place in the final World Cup Ranking. Tran enters the list at 20th. The top three hold onto their places, with Torbjörn Blomdahl (Sweden) on top, Caudron in second and Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) in third.

Sánchez advances to third place in the World Players Ranking. Tran is at 39th. Blomdahl is still the leader and Caudron stays in second.

The event took place 10-15 December 2007, in the Ajou University Gymnasium, Seoul, Soth Korea. It was the seventh and final event of the 2007 World Cup. Next year's first event is in Sluiskil, Netherlands, 21-27 January.
